25N Coworking wins Mayor's Choice Award

GENEVA - 25N Coworking, 25 N. Third St., was honored with the Mayor's Choice Award, given to recognize significant contributions in business and real estate development.

Mara Hauser, 25N Coworking founder and chief executive officer, accepted the award at the City's annual Merchant Holiday Kickoff Breakfast at The Herrington Inn & Spa. Mayor Kevin Burns commented about the transformation from an empty bank building to a community office and event space.

"Mara's energy, creativity and love of community are reflected in every aspect of 25N Coworking," Burns said. "What was once a tired corner of our central business district is now a hub of activity that benefits all of Geneva."

Economic development is one of the goals of 25N Coworking, which opened in February, Hauser acknowledged.

"Not only do our members work with each other on projects, with our location in downtown Geneva, we actively encourage them to utilize local shops, restaurants and businesses," Hauser explained. "We are beyond excited to be recognized by the City of Geneva for our efforts."

25N Coworking was featured last summer on Geneva Broadcast Network's "Business Beat" television show and is planning to again host a portion of the Geneva Film Festival next year.

The breakfast was organized by Geneva's Economic Development Department.
