Enjoy holiday concert with Indian Valley Community Band Nov. 22

The 24th annual Holiday Concert, performed by Indian Valley Community Band, will again benefit area families needing a helping hand. The musical talents of more than 30 multigenerational band members, who reside throughout a dozen area communities, have joined together and will entertain you with a family friendly show that promises to delight all ages with the sounds of the season.

The concert will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at the beautiful, historic Opera House, 140 E. Railroad St. in downtown Sandwich.

With its newly reupholstered seats and paint and wall stenciling re-created to its 1890s splendor, this historic location is the perfect setting for the musical event! The Opera House is handicap accessible.

Under the direction of Richard Hart (retired choral director at Downers Grove North), the performance will feature a variety of holiday music, as well as a singalong which the audience is invited to participate in. Patrons will be treated to a punch and cookie reception after the musical performance.

This is a free concert and no ticket is needed, but nonperishable food items or monetary donations will be gratefully accepted at the door and will go to the Sandwich Lions Club Franklin Mall Christmas Project, which distributes grocery items to less fortunate families at Christmastime.
