Schaumburg High marching band to perform at Sugar Bowl

The Schaumburg High School marching band will join marching bands from across the country to perform during the halftime show of the Sugar Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Besides the once-in-a-lifetime experience of playing in front of a global audience at the New Year's Day event, the 250 woodwind, brass, percussion and guard members that make up the Saxon Marching Band will get to rehearse with and learn from the other talented marching bands that will converge on Louisiana.

The band is lead by director Vinnie Inendino, who has been teaching for six years and has traveled with WorldStrides, the organization in charge of selecting the bands for the Sugar Bowl this year, twice before.

To help the school's fundraising efforts, contact Inendino by email at vinendino@d211.org.
