Environmental coalition hosts end of year meeting, holiday party

Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition (CACC) hosts its end of year meeting and holiday party on Thursday, Dec. 10 at Danada House in Wheaton, Illinois.

Dave Sloan, Chicago Automobile Trade Association President and Chicago Auto Show General Manager, will be the keynote speaker and provide an automotive industry overview and highlight advanced environmental technologies. The coalition also will highlight its accomplishments over the past year, as well as future programs, plans, and events.

After the meeting, attendees are encouraged to stay for dinner and conversation at CACC's Holiday Reception. The networking reception begins at 4 PM and dinner will begin at 6 PM. Nicor Gas and Cummins NPower sponsor this event. To register, go to: http://chicagocleancities.org/events.

Chicago Area Clean Cities is a nonprofit coalition focused on promoting cleaner energy for automotive fleets in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. It is one of nearly 100 coalitions across the country that are affiliated with the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities program, which brings together stakeholders to increase the use of alternative fuel and advanced-vehicle technologies, reduce idling, and improve fuel economy and air quality. It concentrates its efforts on educating businesses and municipalities in the six-county Chicago area, including Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties.

Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) is the nation's oldest and largest metropolitan new-car dealer association. It boasts more than 420 members from the metropolitan Chicago and northwest Indiana area. The CATA has been producer of the Chicago Auto Show since 1935.

The Chicago Auto Show is the nation's largest and longest-running auto show. It is held every February in McCormick Place and boasts more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space. The show's annual First Look for Charity raised more than $2.5 million for 18 local charities and has raised more than $40 million in its 28-year history.
