Samantha Bee to appear at Chicago's BookCon in 2016

NEW YORK - Samantha Bee of "The Daily Show" fame will be a featured guest at next year's BookCon, along with such popular authors as Meg Cabot and Marissa Meyer.

Event organizer ReedPOP announced Monday that Chris O'Dowd and Leigh Bardugo also will be in attendance for the third annual BookCon, to be held in Chicago on May 14.

Publishing's version of Comic Con, BookCon began as a pop culture subset of the convention and trade show BookExpo America. It now takes place as a stand-alone event, immediately following BookExpo.

BookCon speakers have included John Green, Mindy Kaling and Judy Blume. Bee will be promoting her middle grade novel "Cracking Up."
