Nature program looks at history of Canada goose

Learn about the history of the Canada goose from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Hickory Knolls Discovery Center, 3795 Campton Hills Drive, St. Charles.

Everyone can identify these large waterfowl, but many people know little about them. In this class, wildlife biologist Kendra Slown of the Cooperative Wildlife Research Lab of Southern Illinois University will present the natural history of this regal-looking, yet often-reviled bird.

Learn about the ups and downs of goose populations, subspecies identification, migration trends and more.
