Huntley man admits striking Rosemont bar patron

A Huntley man pleaded guilty Thursday to striking another man last July after the two got into an argument at a Rosemont bar and restaurant.

Martin Romero, 29, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to one year conditional discharge, a form of probation, court records show. The judge also ordered Romero to pay a $309 fine.

Romero's blow rendered the man unconscious. The man approached Romero because he thought Romero was behaving inappropriately toward a woman, who turned out to be Romero's wife, prosecutors said during the initial bond hearing.
