Schaumburg Twp. assessor retiring from Roselle PD

After 31 years in law enforcement, Schaumburg Township Assessor John Lawson will retire from his job as a sergeant in the Roselle Police Department on Nov. 20 and start a new job 10 days later as an officer in the College of Lake County Police Department.

Lawson, who also once ran as a Republican candidate for the 56th District state representative seat, said he will continue to serve as Schaumburg Township assessor.

A Schaumburg resident who began his law enforcement career in Fox Lake in 1984, Lawson said the department he's joining is made up mostly of retired police command staff.
