Glenbard South to stage 'The Addams Family'

They're creepy and they're kooky, but they're a lot of fun.

That's what is in store when Glenbard South Theatre launches its season with "The Addams Family" musical at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, Nov. 12-14, in the school's auditorium, 23W200 Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn.

Directed by Aimee Lynn Newlan, Glenbard South's new theater director, the story starts when Wednesday Addams falls in love with the perfectly normal Lucas Beineke. She must convince her mysterious and spooky family to behave normally, at least for one night.

Lucas and his parents visit the Addams clan (and their various living and "otherwise" ancestors) for an introductory dinner that will transform them all.

With a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, "The Addams Family" musical is sure to entertain.

The production includes more than 100 Glenbard South students among actors, crew members, front-of-house team and the pit orchestra.

Cast members include Maggie Micklo as Wednesday, Stephanie Maurer as Morticia, Dale Nelson as Gomez, Anthony Pusateri as Lucas Beineke, Tyler Shaw as Pugsley, Ian Rose as Uncle Fester, Kara Clesle as Grandma Addams, Alex Sellers as Mr. Beineke, Alison Groppi as Mrs. Beineke, and Justin Martinez as Lurch.

Assistant director is Ellen Hill. Set design, technical direction and lights and sound staff are Marissa Gil, Brad Newlan and Stephanie Wallace.
