Fox Valley Career Center to host open house Nov. 5

The Fox Valley Career Center will host its annual open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Kaneland High School, 47W326 Keslinger Road, Maple Park.

Fox Valley Career Center offers a comprehensive Education-to-Careers plan for students. It provides 20 quality career and technical training courses in partnership with area businesses and industry, which will equip students with appropriate technical and academic skills needed to enter the work force and/or post secondary education/training.

Fox Valley Career Center courses are available to juniors and seniors if they are enrolled in one of the school districts that comprise Fox Valley Career Center: Batavia, Burlington Central, Geneva, Kaneland, St. Charles or West Aurora. They offer job shadowing and internship opportunities through courses at Fox Valley Career Center.

Courses are available in: automotive technology; personal computer maintenance, repair and networking; web development; game programming and technologies; cosmetology; aesthetics; barbering; early childhood; electrician; emergency medical technician; fire science; graphic communications; basic nurse assistant training (CNA); Exploring Medical Careers; horticulture; law enforcement; Powersports and equipment; technology; Principles of Biomedical Sciences (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior); Human Body Systems (sophomore, junior, senior); and welding.
