Seniors cost of living not increasing?

I recently learned Seniors will not be getting a cost of living increase in their Social Security checks in 2016. Why? Low inflation and gasoline prices are down. Great. But Seniors don't really drive much anymore.

Where would we go? Hotel/motel rooms are priced sky high and restaurant meals are not cheap.

Auto insurance rates are up, natural gas is up (there's a glut of natural gas, you know), electrical rates are up, just as food prices, water, sewer and garbage removal fees are all up and increasing annually.

Real estate taxes, home rents are continuing to spiral up.

A few days ago, I noted Metra is bumping up their fees. And today, I received a notice from my American Legion Post stating annual fees will be increased from $26 to $37.50, effective in January.

Nah, we don't need a cost of living increase. Gas prices are down.
