Model opens at Northwoods of Wheaton

A tree-lined entryway leads into Northwoods of Wheaton, an enclave of 11 homesites tucked in an established neighborhood across the street from the Wheaton North High School campus.

"This community is a unique opportunity for new construction in a sought-after part of town where most of the housing stock is older homes," said Cheryl Bonk, vice president of sales and marketing for M/I Homes. "Also, buyers will love the convenience of living so close to the school and the energy that comes with sporting events and other school activities happening nearby."

Located south of Geneva Road and just off Morse Street, Northwoods of Wheaton offers three, two-story floor plans. Houses have three to five bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths and an attached two- or three-car garage.

The LeClaire model is priced from $633,990 and features 3,301 to 3,459 square feet, four bedrooms, 2½ baths, a loft and two-car garage. The decorated model showcases many upgrades, and buyers can select options that include a morning room, covered porch, upstairs deck, a wet bar and three-car garage.

With interior design by Mary Cook & Associates of Chicago, this model home showcases a soft modern look with a gray, blue and green color scheme, dark hardwood floors and a lot of mirrors, glass features and silver accents.

In this very open floor plan, there are no hallways on the first floor. The foyer opens directly into the dining room where a dark wood table awaits guests and floral print draperies dress the windows.

Painted horizontal stripes add dimension to the nearby home office, where a large window allows in natural light.

In the rear of the home's first floor, the family room features an enclave with plasma TV alongside the fireplace with wood mantle and mirror above.

In the kitchen, an oversized island with a farmhouse sink offers enough room for a scrumptious buffet and lots of seating and space for guests to gather. Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and a walk-in pantry in this beautiful kitchen will delight homeowners.

There's not only a breakfast nook, but also a morning room with windows on three sides and access to the deck.

Upstairs, a huge loft with sectional, game table and plasma TV features access to a small second-floor deck.

The master suite features a cathedral ceiling, a ruched bed cover, a reading corner, large closet and dressing room. The private bath offers two sinks, private commode, tub and walk-in shower.

Three secondary bedrooms include a room done in teal, gray and orange with geometric design draperies; a bedroom with a fluffy spread and fabric headboard; and a room with bunk beds, colorful covers and white furnishings.

The LeClaire home also serves as the model and sales office for Woodlawn Place, a nearby community of 18 homes with base prices from $539,990 to $664,990 with 2,197 to 3,880 square feet of living space, three or four bedrooms, two to 3½ baths and attached two- or three-car garage.

Located south of Geneva Road on Woodlawn Street, Woodlawn Place students attend Carl Sandburg Elementary, Monroe Middle and Wheaton North High schools, also in District 200.

"Even younger students can manage the short walk to school from Woodlawn Place," Bonk said. "And although this is a community of just 18 homes, buyers can choose from seven floor plans, including a ranch design, plus a variety of elevations that add to the curb appeal of the neighborhood."

Both communities are minutes from I-355, I-88 and I-294 and are close to the Wheaton Public Library, Cosely Zoo, beautiful parks and recreational opportunities and downtown Wheaton.

Sales hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Monday, 1 to 6 p.m. Friday and closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
