Help Palatine school on Make a Difference Day

HandsOn Suburban Chicago is looking for volunteers to mark Make A Difference Day on Saturday, Oct. 24, by helping Jane Addams School in Palatine transform its courtyard into an outdoor learning space.

HOSC's Volunteer Corps is looking for 75 to 100 volunteers to come together to complete the effort, which will include light landscaping, garden plot and park bench construction, birdhouse building, mural painting, and repainting of the stencils on the playground blacktop.

The project kicks off at 9 a.m. and concludes at noon, at the school, 1020 E. Sayles Drive, Palatine. The work will include projects appropriate for youth ages 8 and up.

To sign up, visit www.handsonsuburbanchicago.org or call (847) 228-1320.

HOSC's Volunteer Corps serves as a way to unite people in the Northwest suburbs through service opportunities within the community. It was created in response to the rising need for volunteers throughout the suburbs.
