Girls volleyball: South Elgin, Jacobs beat rivals

South Elgin d. Elgin: Rachel Priore had 11 kills and Sarah Murray 12 digs to lead the Storm (16-15) to a 25-21, 25-22 Upstate Eight crossover win.

Jacobs d. Dundee-Crown: Bridget Wallenberger had 13 kills and Katie Mahoney added 12 as the Golden Eagles outlasted D-C 26-24, 17-25, 25-21 in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division. Paige Queffelec had 9 digs and 25 assists for Jacobs, while Lindsay Czech and Danielle Cassidy added 8 digs each. Bre Novak (10 kills), Gina Pagano (8 kills, 5 digs), Frankie Cavallaro (19 assists) and Zoe Sitarz (19 digs) led the Chargers (21-8, 4-6).

Burlington Central d. Harvard: Leah Murphy (5 digs, 3 aces), Lexie VanHiel (5 blocks, 2 aces), Megan Lomas (3 kills), Rachel Gaydos (13 digs) and Lexi DeWaard (13 assists) led the Rockets to a 25-8, 25-15 Big Northern East win that clinched at least a share of the division title. BC (29-5, 13-0) can clinch outright on Thursday at Genoa-Kingston.

Batavia d. West Chicago: Maddy Astling and Sydney Cavanaugh had 5 kills each and Katelynn Fegan added 12 digs and 3 aces to lead the Bulldogs (14-20) to a 25-16, 26-24 UEC crossover win.

Glenbard East d. Larkin: In another UEC crossover, Sam Wahl (6 kills) and Natalie Kofie (7 digs, 11 assists) led Larkin in a 25-20, 25-8 loss.

St. Edward d. Westminster Christian: Dominique Washington had 8 kills and Samantha Boydston added 7 as the Green Wave (16-14) won 25-4, 25-19 in nonconference action. Gabriella Tripicchio added 7 digs and 18 assists for St. Edward. Emily Lamp had 6 assists and 2 aces while Grace Bickford added 3 kills for Westminster (3-24).

Geneva d. Bartlett: Grace Loberg had 6 kills and 8 aces and Ally Barrett added 5 kills as the Vikings won this UEC crossover 25-16, 25-18. Mikayla Lanasa added 16 assists for Geneva (27-3). Andie Sobotka had 8 digs and Almira Khan 8 digs for Bartlett (12-16-1).

Huntley d. McHenry: Erin Erb had 13 kills a Brea Jareb added 9 digs as the Red Raiders (20-14, 6-4) won 25-14, 25-23 in the FVC Valley.
