Two men killed in Lake in the Hills crash
Police are investigating a rollover crash in Lake in the Hills that killed two men early Saturday morning.
Police said a Lake in the Hills patrol officer came upon the single-vehicle accident on Pyott Road, south of East Oak Street, shortly after midnight. The vehicle, a 2014 Audi R8, had been traveling north on Pyott Road before leaving the road, rolling over several times and coming to rest on its roof.
The male driver was ejected from the vehicle and the lone passenger, also a male, was trapped inside, police said. Both men died at the scene.
A news release issued by the McHenry County Coroner's Office described the men as "middle-aged." Autopsies are scheduled for Monday morning.
Police and the coroner are withholding the names of the victims pending family notification.
