Dist. 211 holding college nights

Palatine Schaumburg Township High School District 211 is holding a college night Wednesday, Oct. 14, for First Generation College Bound students and their parents and a more general one the following Wednesday, Oct. 21, both at Palatine High School, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road.

The first event begins at 6:30 p.m., and will include a roundtable discussion with representatives from colleges and universities, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, first generation college students, and the parents of first generation college students. Students and parents will participate in breakout sessions on topics including financial aid. The sessions The second event, "The Future Starts Today," runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. More than 200 representatives from two- and four-year colleges and military academies will provide curriculum and campus information.

Free, round-trip shuttle bus service will be provided from other District 211 schools to Palatine High School. Parents are asked to take advantage of shuttle buses, since parking is limited. For more information, contact your school's college and career counselor.
