Visiting chef brings French cuisine to ECC campus restaurant

A visiting chef from France will prepare a transcendent French dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the Elgin Community College Spartan Terrace Restaurant located in the Culinary Arts Center, Building I, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

Chef Patrick Guat, alongside six of his students, from the L'Amandier School in Angouleme, France, will work side by side with ECC Culinary students to prepare a special, four-course evening meal with authentic French dishes and wine. The menu features a vegetable soup; sea bass with mussels and leeks; Ballotine of Guinea Fowl with Duck Foie Gras, Brussel sprouts, and bacon; and a small rum cake with lime Chantilly and fresh fruit.

Reservations are $60 per person and available by calling the ECC Arts Center box office at (847) 622-0300 or online at tickets.elgin.edu. Deadline to purchase tickets is 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.
