"James and the Giant Peach" is a classic story by Roald Dahl. James' happy life at the English seaside is rudely ended when his parents are killed by a rhinoceros and he goes to live with his two horrid aunts. Daringly saving the life of a spider, James comes into possession of magic boiled crocodile tongues, after which an enormous peach starts to grow in the garden.

Venturing inside, he meets not only the spider but a number of new friends, including a ladybug and a centipede who help him with his plan to try and get to New York.

This musical brings Roald Dahl's book to life for audiences of all ages while teaching the life lessons of loyalty and friendship.

Palatine Park District's family-friendly theater productions offer a convenient local option for introducing children to the theatrical experience. Shows are usually an hour long and are offered in a comfortable atmosphere.

"James and the Giant Peach" is performed by American Eagle Productions, a group that has blazed the trail for youth and educational theater in the Chicago area. Performing for more than 300 schools and groups annually for the past 24 years, their goal is to bring literature, history and geography to life through live musical and theatrical productions.
