Free document shredding for Schaumburg residents

Schaumburg is hosting a paper shred and paint recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 24, in the west parking lot of Boomers Stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road.

Village residents - participants will be asked to show ID - may bring up to two banker boxes of documents per household to be shredded. Staples, paper clips and folders can be included, and the shredder will be on site to allow residents to witness their documents being shredded.

Latex paint will be recycled at a cost of $2 per gallon and $9 per 5 gallon pail. This is open to anyone from the public. Cash or credit card will be accepted. Latex paint only.

Oil-based paints can be taken to the Naperville Household Waste Facility, 156 Fort Hill Drive, Naperville, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Call (630) 420-6095 for more information on Naperville's facility.
