Hersey still perfect in MSL East; Prospect keeps pace

Hersey's girls volleyball team maintained its 1-match lead over Prospect in the Mid-Suburban East with a 25-7, 25-11 victory at Wheeling on Tuesday.

The Huskies (16-5, 7-0), were led on attack by Liz Fuerst (9 kills), Katie Rozanski (5) and Zoe Strozewski (3).

Junior Maggie Reisel (13 assists) and freshman Alessia Olhava (5 assists) set the attack while Emma Frankiewicz had 14 digs.

Wheeling (5-16, 3-4) was led on attack by Timber Terell (5 kills), Michaela Vasey (5), Jessica Janowski (2) and Remy Jankowski (2).

Prospect d. Elk Grove: Kaeli Myers (7 kills), Brenda Kendziera (5), Sammy Withey (5) and Lilli Fleming (4) led the attack for host Prospect (16-5, 6-1) in a 25-10 10, 25-12 MSL East triumph.

Michelle Haaning handed out 16 assists for the Knights while Niki Giammarino had 7 digs.

Elk Grove (2-20, 0-7) ws led on attack by Alex Masnica (2 kills) and Emma Slattery (1). Carly Crothers had 11 digs.

Fremd d Barrington: Host Fremd improved to 13-8 and 3-4 in the MLS West with a 25-18, 24-26, 25-20 triumph as junior Sara Ganas put down 10 kills and teammates Bailey Hooker and Yasabel Lee each added 5.

Natalie Freund handed out 19 assists and Karolina Sas had 13 digs for the Vikings.

Gabrielle Morris (5 points 9 kills), Anna Zawisza (24 assists), Megan Talbot (8 kills), Peyton Tilly (7 kills) and Olivia Hagan (6 digs) led the Fillies (6-15, 4-3)

Conant d. Hoffman Estates: Rachel Delanois (8 kills), Lauren Perri (7), Kristina Loznjakovic (3) and Ayla Kljako (3) led the attack for visiting Conant in a 25-19, 25-16 victory in the MSL West.

Loznjakovic collected 18 assists while Ester Cho had 22 digs for the Cougars.

Jennifer Nailor (3 kills) led the attack for Hoffman (0-7 in the West).

Rolling Meadows d. Buffalo Grove: Host Rolling Meadows improved to 16-8-1 and 4-3 in the MSL East with a 25-17 25-22 victory.

Hannah Mickey (8 kills), Meghan Slowik (4 kills) and Connor Paige (3 kills) led the Mustangs' attack set by Megan King (13 assists) and Megan Mich (4 assists). Teammate Maddie Sellergren led the Mustangs with 13 digs.

Christian Liberty d. Alden Hebron: Cassie Swiderek (4 aces, 7 kills) and Emily Naubert (6 kills) led the Chargers in a 25-20, 25-12 victory.

Marian Central d. St. Viator: Marian Central Catholic posted a 25-14, 25-15 victory over St. Viator (16-12, 2-3) which ws le don attack by Alyssa Forbes (6 kills), and Audrey Nuelle (3 kills). Carrie Leazer was 9-of-9 serving 2 aces while Michaela Mueller had 12 assists. Ellie Meyer led the back row with 12 digs.

Northland d. Lake County Baptist: In the home school league, the Northland Royals topped the Lions 25-4, 15-25, 25-4.
