District 156 teachers return to picket lines in McHenry

McHenry High School District 156 schools will remain closed today after a marathon 12-hour negotiation session Sunday between the school board and the teachers union failed to produce a new contract. John Wredling, former St. Charles school leader, dies at 101

John Wredling, namesake of St. Charles District 303's Wredling Middle School, died at age 101 Saturday in his home surrounded by his family, according to a news release from District 303. Wredling served as district superintendent from 1968 to 1972. Full story.

Advocate Condell to end pioneering adult day care program

Moderate stop and go traffic on suburban expressways. In the Schaumburg area, Gary Avenue north and south remains closed at the Elgin-O'Hare expressway. In Lake Barrington, Roberts Road remains closed to all traffic between Darrell Road and Route 59 for construction of a roundabout.
