All homemade German food at Oct. 17 Oktoberfest in Carpentersville

On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Carpentersville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5915 and Auxiliary is sponsoring an Oktoberfest featuring all homemade German food.

The menu features roast pork, red cabbage, German potato salad, applesauce, vegetables and more.

They will be serving from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the VFW Post, 301 Lake Marian Road in Carpentersville. Cost is $12; children, age 4-11, pay half-price, and those under age 4 eat free.

They also have entertainment that evening and will be playing some German music. Remember it is Sweetest Day so that would be a good time to treat someone special. Everyone is welcome and while you wait or if you like we do have gaming machines for your entertainment.

For information, call Elaine Slack at (847) 658-3391 or the canteen at (847) 428-4836.
