Vacancy on Prospect Heights District 23 school board

Prospect Heights Elementary District 23 is seeking applications from individuals interested in filling a vacant school board seat as a result of the recent resignation of board member Judi Zimmerman. Interested parties must apply by Oct. 28.

Individuals appointed must meet the requirements of the Illinois School Code: U.S. citizens, at least 18 years of age, a resident of District 23 for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment, a registered voter, not a child sex offender, not hold another incompatible office, not have a prohibited interest in any contract with the district, not be a school trustee and not hold certain types of prohibited state or federal employment.

The individual selected will serve from the date of appointment until April 2017, at which time the individual may run for election for a four-year term.

The materials are available for download at www.d23.org or at the Administration Center, 700 Schoenbeck Road in Prospect Heights. Candidates may submit their materials electronically to boe@d23.org, by mail, or deliver their application materials to the Administration Center, 700 Schoenbeck Road in Prospect Heights.

The board is required to fill the vacancy within 45 days.
