Daily Herald partners with Sun-Times to share news

In the print editions of the Daily Herald's Sports section on Wednesday, Sept. 30, you'll find our coverage of the Chicago Cubs supplemented by material contributed by the Chicago Sun-Times.

This is part of a news-sharing alliance with the Sun-Times intended to add stories that expand our reach as we continue to look for ways to serve you better.

On dailyherald.com, we'll be providing abbreviated versions of shared stories and then linking to chicago.suntimes.com for the full versions.

The alliance is similar to those taking place in the newspaper industry across the country and similar to alliances we've long enjoyed with WBBM radio and ABC 7 TV.

We're recognized for our intense suburban coverage and the Sun-Times is recognized for its gritty city coverage, so it seems like a natural match.

We expect to be selective in the stories we add and are sharing some of our stories with the Sun-Times as part of the agreement.

I hope you enjoy the added coverage.

Thanks as always for reading.
