Boys soccer: Crystal Lake South blanks Cary-Grove

CL South 1, Cary-Grove 0: Skyler Pentico's second-half heroics gave the Gators (8-5-3) a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win over the Trojans (6-4-2, 0-2). Nikolas Getzinger chipped an with an assist while Spencer Traub's 6 saves helped CLS get the shutout and an unblemished 3-0 mark in conference. C-G Keeper Sergio Lemus made 4 saves in the loss.

Bartlett 2, West Aurora 1: Oliver Saile had a goal and an assist in the Hawks' Upstate Eight Valley win over the Blackhawks. Tim Riordan also added a goal and Sergio Navareette an assist for Bartlett (8-4-1, 3-0-1) while Jake Hasenstein nailed down 4 saves in net.

Huntley 1, Marian Central 0: Diego Cazares' goal on an assist from Travis Walsh in the 56th minute was all the Red Raiders (10-4-1) needed during their nonconference win. Keeper Michael Parks needed 7 saves for the shutout.

Hampshire 4, Prairie Ridge 0: The Whip-Purs (8-5-1) soundly defeated the Wolves in FVC Fox action. Doug Stuehler led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist. Tyler Koppie tallied 1 goal and 1 assist and Tyler Fairwood cashed in a PK. Jose Cruz added 1 assist and Andy Krajecki closed out PR with 9 saves.

Dundee-Crown 2, McHenry 1: Freddy Martinez had a goal and an assist in the Chargers' FVC Valley win. Julian Ajroja also added a goal while Jeremy Jareckyj added 1 assist. Avery Lovaglia (1 save) and Luiz Cruz (3 saves) split time in net for D-C (10-3-3, 1-1).

Burlington Central 3, Rockford Christian 1: Jack Schramme's hat trick was too much for the Royal Lions in Big Northern East action. Cole Tecza, Mitchell Goose and Max Freeman each garnered assists for the Rockets (6-7-1, 5-2) and goalie Ryan Fitzgerald collected 3 saves.

Kaneland 7, Ottawa 0: The Knights (6-5-4) rolled over Ottawa with 5 goals in the second half of a Northern Illinois Big XII crossover win. Javier Correra and Trevor Jahns each put in 2 goals while Angel Escontrias had 1 goal and 1 assist. Mark Dhom and Sam Wolf each had a goal while Brian Bartholomew and Andres Tovar had 2 assists each. John McCaffrey also added an assist in the shutout.

Westminster Christian 2, Keith Country Day 1: Will Kmeciak's 2 goals were good enough for a Northeastern Athletic win for the Warriors (8-6, 2-0). Will DeHaan and Nick Kleczynski each garnered assists and goalkeeper Ben Versluys had 12 saves in goal.
