Zengeler Cleaners opens Northbrook store

NORTHBROOK - Zengeler Cleaners recently opened a new store at 792 Skokie Blvd. in Northbrook.

The new facility is around the corner from the previous Dundee Road store and offers state-of-the art, environmentally friendly features that have been popular with customers. Among the features is the Metalprogetti conveyor system, which automates the cleaning workflow from receiving the order, processing the garments, sorting, bagging and tagging for pickup. Customers area able to pick up orders at their convenience using the store's 24-hour self-serve kiosk.

"Zengeler Cleaners is extremely proud of both the appearance and functionality of the new store," said Zengeler Cleaners President Tom Zengeler. "Our architect collaborated with the Village of Northbrook to assure this beautiful new facility was consistent with our neighbors and with the community as a whole. To achieve that while providing a modern, energy efficient operation is a tribute to everyone on the team."

The store's grand opening features members of the Zengeler family's 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th generations. The company was founded in 1857 by John Zengeler, the great-great grandfather of Tom Zengeler, the 5th-generation president of the family-owned cleaners. Representing the 4th generation of the Zengeler family at the opening festivities was Robert Zengeler, Sr., Tom's father, along with several other members of the 6th and 7th generations.

In addition to the new Northbrook store, the company has seven other locations: Deerfield, Hubbard Woods, Northfield, Winnetka, Long Grove and two stores in Libertyville, along with eight home pickup and delivery routes.
