Campton Township Prairie Fest held at Corron Farm

The Campton Township Prairie Fest was held on Saturday, drawing a continuous flow of people to the ninth annual event.

Visitors took wagon rides through the prairie, toured of the historic 1850s Corron Family home and other buildings on the property, and visited with local vendors selling goods, food, and decorative wares.

Civil war re-enactors portraying soldiers flying the flag of the Chicago Light Artillery Company B educated visitors and ignited a cannon after the American flag was raised to open the festival.

Square dancers from the Fox Valley Mixers and Bachelors N Bachelorettes Square Dance Clubs were new to the fest this year, as was a display of historic letters from the Civil War, Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and other times that was found at the Corron Home.
