Greens Park to double as school playground

As work begins next month on the expansion to Olive-Mary Stitt School in Arlington Heights, the park district will share Greens Park, at Olive and Douglas, so students can still play outdoors during construction.

Because of construction, Olive students will not be able to use their normal school playground and outdoor space for recess and physical education classes.

Meanwhile, the park district is warning residents that the Greens Park playground may be particularly busy during lunch and recess, between 12:10 and 1:10 p.m. weekdays, and that gym classes may use the basketball courts at other times on weekdays.

The addition at Olive will bring five new classrooms, a larger gymnasium and a new commons area.
