STILL TIME TO ORDER NATIVE PLANTS FROM THE CAROL STREAM PLANT SALE

Plant orders for the Carol Stream Native Tree and Shrub Sale can be made through Tuesday, Sept. 29. Details and an order form can be found online here at http://tinyurl.com/q97lt3a.

A portion of the sales benefit The Conservation Foundation in supporting its efforts to preserve and restore open space and to protect rivers and streams.

October officially has been named "Oak-tober" in the state of Illinois to promote the importance of oak trees in the environment. There are several oak tree varieties available, including shingle oak, bur oak, and pin oak. All available trees and plants are $30 and come in 5 gallon pots.

Pickup for all plant orders is Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Water Reclamation Open House, 245 Kuhn Rd., (northeast corner of Kuhn Rd. and North Ave.) in Carol Stream.

The Conservation Foundation is one of the region's largest and oldest private conservation organizations, with more than 4,000 members and donors, and more than 500 volunteers who contribute 20,000 hours per year.

Work is focused in DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will counties to preserve and restore nature in your neighborhood. Find out more at theconservationfoundation.org.
