Boys soccer: Larkin knocks off Geneva

Larkin 2, Geneva 1: Ricky Nava scored on a breakaway off an Ino Simental throw-in with 5 minutes left in the Royals' Upstate Eight River road win over the Vikings (2-4-3, 0-1-1). Erick Paniagua also scored on a feed from Randy Rodriguez in the first half and Eleno Montes made 5 saves in net for Larkin (4-4-3, 1-1-1). Vikings forward Eric Anderson provided an equalizer during the 55th minute.

CL South 1, Jacobs 0: Andrew Grabowski's first half goal gave the Gators (6-5-3, 1-0) a huge Fox Valley Conference Valley win over Jacobs (10-3, 0-1). Jeffery Kirshenbaum added an assist and Spencer Traub amounted 9 saves for his third shutout of the year. Eduardo Guimaray nailed down 6 saves in net for the Golden Eagles, who had only been held scoreless once this season.

Streamwood 2, Glenbard East 1: Donnie Sosa and Alex Chavez each provided goals for the Sabres (5-5-2) in a UEC crossover win that snapped an 0-4-2 skid. Aldo Lazaro and Alex Herrera each fired assists while keeper Daniel Dominguez tallied 4 saves.

Westminster Christian 3, Schaumburg Christian 2: The Warriors (6-5) battled back from a 2-goal deficit to steal a nonconference road win. Nick Kleczynski, Lee Grasemann and Will Kmeciak all found the net while Will DeHaan had the only assist. Ben Versluys collected 5 saves in goal.

Bartlett 1, West Chicago 1: Ryan Stratton accounted for the only Hawks' (5-4-1, 2-0-1) goal in an Upstate Eight Valley Division tie with the Wildcats. Venici Leone added an assist while keeper Jake Hasenstein had 5 saves.

Kaneland 1, Yorkville 1: Andres Tovar sank a second half goal for the Knights (5-5-3, 2-1-2) to force a tie with the Foxes in Northern Illinois Big XII East action.

Richmond-Burton 2, Burlington Central 1: Jack Schramme registered the lone Rocket goal in a Big Northern East road loss. Ryan Fitzgerald made 4 saves in net and David Murphy provided 2, while Enrique Garcia notched an assist for Central (4-6-1, 3-1).
