Boys soccer: Elgin Academy, Harvest Christian earn wins

Julian Romano scored the winning goal in the 76th minute Monday as Elgin Academy's boys soccer team defeated Westminster Christian 3-2 in a nonconference game played in Elgin.

Karl Rauschenberger and Romano each scored in the first half for the Hilltoppers (3-3-1) while David Zuzevich (1 save) and Patrick Westerhoff (5 saves) shared time in goal.

Will Kmeciak and Will Dehaan scored for Westminster and Ben Versluys had 7 saves in goal.

Harvest Christian 3, Genoa-Kingston 3: Antonio Nevarez had 2 goals and Cesar Velazquez added a score as Harvest (7-1-2) earned a nonconference tie. Matthew Baron made 2 saves in goal for the Lions.
