Night life events: Oktoberfest kicks off at Bavarian Lodge, Glenview 'Haus'

The Bavarian Lodge kicks off this year's Oktoberfest season at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, with the traditional tapping of the Warsteiner Oktoberfest Lager and pig roast. Reps from Warsteiner will be on hand with giveaways and Warsteiner beers on draft including Warsteiner Premium Pils, Konig Ludwig Weissbier and Warsteiner Oktoberfest. No cover. Glenview House's Oktoberfest

It's a tent party at Glenview "Haus" from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. Drinks include $12 Glenview Haus' liters, $7 half liters, and $5 14-ounce cups of Munich's Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest, Hacker-Pschorr Weis and Sam Adams Oktoberfest brews. Polka band Die Musikmeisters plays all day. Bavarian food specialties include $5 brats, $8 giant pretzels, and an $8 German plate that includes a brat, German potato salad and sauerkraut.
