Save the Date: R.A.H. Fundraiser to Benefit Homeless D211 Students

Realtors Against Homelessness (R.A.H.) will be hosting their 5th annual fundraiser on November 5, 2015 to benefit homeless students who attend one of the seven District 211 high schools - so save the date!

Since R.A.H. was founded in 2011, the organization has raised more than $80,000 which was then donated to the District 211 Foundation. The funds offer valuable resources to school district social workers, who provide direct support to homeless students.

Township High School District 211 serves the communities of Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Palatine, Schaumburg, and portions of Arlington Heights, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, South Barrington, and Streamwood.

Schools that are a part of D211 include Palatine, Fremd, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates and Conant high schools, as well District 211 Academy-North and District 211 Higgins Education Center, which are both alternative schools.

The R.A.H. Fundraiser will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Chandler's Banquets, 401 N. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

The event will include an appetizer buffet and cash bar, in addition to auctions, raffles and exciting entertainment.

Sponsorships are currently available, and more information can be found at www.realtorsagainsthomelessness.com/become-a-sponsor. Donated items are also being accepted for auctions and raffles.

Due to R.A.H.'s alignment with the District 211 Foundation, all donations are tax deductible. Monetary donations must be made directly to the District 211 Foundation - Homeless Initiative and can be sent to District 211 Foundation, 1750 S. Roselle Road, Palatine, IL 60067. The D211 Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization.

About R.A.H.:

Realtors Against Homelessness (R.A.H.) was founded in August of 2011 by ten local realtors who work for a variety of area real estate offices. Together they joined forces, with a mission to provide support to the growing number of homeless students attending District 211 schools. By increasing awareness and fundraising efforts, R.A.H. has been able to positively impact the lives of homeless students.

Homeless Designation from the Federal Government:

According to federal laws, students are considered homeless if they lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence, share housing with other persons due to housing loss resulting from economic hardship, or if they are unaccompanied youth, including students who are unable to live in their home or are forced to find alternate shelter.
