Racing ducks swimming in St. Charles for fundraiser
The quack was back.
Racing ducks were swimming Monday at Otter Cove Aquatic Park in St. Charles to benefit the St. Charles Rotary Club and Equine Dreams in the Fox Valley Hope Floats Duck Race. The service organizations had hoped to have a minimum of 5,000 ducks to adopt at $5 each.
First prize was $2,500 cash, second prize was a Harley-Davidson Sportster, and the third prize was a 60-inch HD TV.
The St. Charles Rotary provides service in the community, and supports programs for youths, education, student and teacher exchanges and vocational and career development, according to rotarystc.org.
Equine Dreams in Newark is a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted activities to children and adults with disabilities. According to equinedreams.org, it provides services to people in Kane, Kendall, DeKalb and LaSalle counties.
