Willowbrook stabbing suspect extradited to DuPage County

An Indiana man charged with breaking into a Willowbrook home and sexually assaulting, beating and stabbing a 26-year-old woman was extradited to DuPage County Friday and will continue to be held on a previously set $5 million bail, authorities said.

Londale Madison, 31, of the 1000 block of Calvert Street in South Bend, is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder, one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault, one count of home invasion and one count of armed robbery in connection with the Aug. 29 attack, DuPage State's Attorney Robert Berlin said.

DuPage prosecutors filed the charges on Sept. 1, and Madison was apprehended that same day in South Bend. He is now being held in the DuPage County jail.

Authorities said they responded to a 911 call for a home invasion on the afternoon of Aug. 29 and found the victim at a neighbor's home. She was treated at an area hospital and released on Friday.

After the attack, Madison fled to Indiana, where he was apprehended, authorities said.

Madison is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 28 in front of Judge George Bakalis. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum sentence of up to 120 years in prison.
