Prepare for exit, lane changes on I-90, I-88, I-290

Flexibility is the way to survive for drivers this coming week with some tweaks on the Jane Addams (I-90) and Reagan Memorial (I-88) tollways as well as I-290.

• For starters, drivers on the eastbound Jane Addams Tollway (I-90) can expect ramp spaghetti near O'Hare as the tollway continues with a widening project. Lanes will be shifted between the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and River Road as will some familiar exits. The far-right lane will be used as the exit for northbound I-294. Overnight lane closures will begin on Monday to convert the eastern lanes to the new configuration.

• On the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88), the interchange at Route 59 in Naperville will close Friday evening until the morning of Sept. 21 to prepare for a new diverging diamond interchange.

• Also, the ramp leading from westbound I-290 to the eastbound Elgin-O'Hare Expressway (Route 390) will shrink to one lane from Friday night to 5 a.m. Sept. 14.
