Hainesville mayor appointed to Pace board

Hainesville Mayor Linda Soto has been nominated by Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor to serve as the county's representative on the Pace suburban bus service board. Soto would complete the term of the late Dick Welton, who served on the Pace board the last 20 years. The term ends in June 2018. Lawlor said Soto has a passion for public service and commitment to improve transportation and has a record of collaborating on regional issues. Soto has served three terms as mayor and also serves on the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County Board. The county board next week is expected to approve the appointment. Appointees must be a current or former mayor who lives in Lake County.
