Annual client appreciation event gives back to Northern Illinois Food Bank

Foundation Wealth Strategies decided to make its annual client appreciation event more than just a thank you to clients this year by hosting a food drive to benefit Northern Illinois Food Bank.

On Friday, Aug. 21, Foundation Wealth Strategies hosted its annual client appreciation event at Fifth Third Ballpark, home of the Kane County Cougars.

This year, the Wheaton, Ill.-based firm decided to participate in Raymond James Care month by inviting all clients to donate a bag of nonperishable items to Northern Illinois Food Bank. The goal was to collect 500 pounds of food, and the firm was well on its way to that goal by the client event. Clients who were not able to attend the game but still wanted to participate dropped off donations at the office to add to the collection.

The Northern Illinois Food Bank updated the firm with the grand total of food that was collected. More than 700 pounds of food was brought in!

"August is Raymond James Cares month, so we thought, what a great way to participate in this positive movement," said Rachel Trenkamp, office manager at Foundation Wealth Strategies. "We decided on a food drive and knew our clients would be so excited to participate, it's easy enough to bring a bag of food to the baseball game. And there are a lot of families and individuals in need of food in our area."

"We just have the best clients," expressed Timothy Rueter, financial adviser and branch manager at Foundation Wealth Strategies.

Northern Illinois Food Bank leads the northern Illinois community in solving hunger by providing nutritious meals to those in need through innovative programs and partnerships. Since 1983, food manufacturers, local grocers, corporations, foundations, and individuals have come together to donate food and funds, and evaluate and repack food for distribution to 800 community food pantries and feeding programs serving more than 71,000 neighbors in need each week across a 13-county service area. That commitment provided 57 million meals to those in need last year. Learn more about the Food Bank at www.SolveHungerToday.org.
