Rolling Meadows picks up road win
Rolling Meadows' girls volleyball team improved to 2-0 as senior middle blocker Rachel Mickey collected 7 kills and 5 blocks in a 17-25, 25-21, 25-19 win at Taft in Chicago on Wednesday night.
Maddie Sellergren added 6 kills and Gabby Paige 5 while setters Megan King (16 assists) and Megan Mich (12 assists) directed the Mustangs' attack .
Fremd d. Naperville Central: Becca Stapleton had 5 kills while Holly Straup and Natalie Freund each handed out 5 assists for Fremd (2-0) in a 25-23, 27-25 nonconference victory.
Leyden d. Vernon Hills: Leyden posted a 25-24, 25-13 triumph as Emily Steininger (8 kills) and Autumn McGee (5 kills, 12 assists, 2 aces) helped lead the way.
