A.J. Antunes & Co. marks 60 years

CAROL STREAM - A.J. Antunes & Co., a family owned and operated company specializing in the manufacturing of food service equipment, recently celebrated its 60th anniversary commemorated by an open house celebration and charity golf outing.

From its roots as a manufacturers' representative business in 1955, A.J. Antunes & Co. has become a food service industry manufacturer specializing in countertop cooking equipment, advanced water treatment solutions and air and gas pressure switches and custom electronic controls.

The company opened its Carol Stream facility in 1999, which enabled the consolidation of operations into a single facility that currently employs 225 people.

"For 60 years, we've built our reputation on consistently meeting our customers' needs," said Glenn Bullock, CEO of A.J. Antunes & Co. "From customer and technical service to fabrication, assembly and packaging, we're all guided by our vision statement: we exist to make our customers successful. Because of this commitment and the hard work of our dedicated team members, operations in more than 150 countries rely on the high-quality, innovative products manufactured by A.J. Antunes."

A.J. Antunes & Co. is also making a lasting difference around the world through a partnership with the nonprofit organization Splash. Splash has purchased and installed more than 1,140 of the company's water filtration systems that provide clean water to more than 310,000 people each day. The reliable water filtration systems from A.J. Antunes & Co. provide the necessary means to generate clean water, utilizing Splash's established networks to complete the installation projects in a timely manner and manage the projects on an ongoing basis.

In addition to being a valued product supplier, A.J. Antunes & Co. supports Splash through financial donations from corporate initiatives and events, such as the recent golf outing. The August 28th outing's proceeds - a total of more than $40,000 - were donated to Splash to assist them in their efforts to bring clean water to children around the world.

"Through the rewarding partnership between A.J. Antunes and Splash, children living in impoverished urban areas, as well as earthquake victims in the most affected communities in Nepal, are receiving clean water," said Jane Antunes Bullock, vice president of administration with A.J. Antunes & Co. "Having seen installation sites firsthand, I can attest to the impact this organization's work has had and continues to have on thousands of people around the world. We are inspired by Splash's mission and are proud to play a part in its success."
