DuPage Foundation Welcomes Barry Horek to Audit Committee

Horek retired from Ernst & Young LLP in 2007 after a 33-year career in public accounting, including 20 years as a partner specializing in individual, partnership, and corporate taxation. After retirement until 2014, Horek was a tax consultant to a number of private and public companies. He also served as interim director for a multinational kitchen products company and an integrated information technology solutions company during that time.

After retirement, Horek was appointed to the Board of Directors of SigmaTron International, Inc., a $230-million contract manufacturer with operations in the U.S., Mexico, China, and Vietnam. He also served on the boards of United Way and Loaves & Fishes Community Services in Naperville.

Horek received his masters of taxation degree from DePaul University and his undergraduate degree in business administration from Carthage College. He also earned his CPA.

Horek and his spouse Mary have resided in Naperville since 1985. They have two married children and three grandchildren.

"I am excited and honored to be a small part of this wonderful organization and look forward to serving as a member of the Audit Committee to continue the important mission of the DuPage Foundation."
