Bill is just more political games

When the legislature returns this week, the House will take a vote to pass Senate Bill 1229.

As you know, this would override the governor's veto of a previous bill that would take away his constitutionally defined powers to negotiate labor contracts (cynically expiring in four years).

It would take this process out of the hands of our elected officials and give it to an unaccountable entity (sounding familiar?)

This state can no longer afford these political games. Hopefully, by voting to leave the veto in place, the House will allow Illinois to begin to dig out from under the unconscionable mess that has been created in Springfield.
