Grayslake Central 2, Maine East 0: Randy Betancourth scored both goals for the Rams in their tournament game at Vernon Hills.
Richard Cruz and Trevor Veenstra had assists, while Connor Gosell made 2 saves in earning the shutout.
Grayslake Central improved to 4-0-1.
Vernon Hills 4, Johnsburg 1: Chris White scored twice and Jose Sanchez also had a goal for the Cougars in their first of two games on the day.
Joseph Lee had 2 assists, and Andre Szmyt and Corey Takaoka also assisted on goals. Cougars keeper Brennan Reback had 7 saves.
Vernon Hills 2, Woodstock North 0: Chris White had 2 goals - giving him four on the day - both assisted by Joseph Lee.
Vernon Hills improved to 4-0 and will face Grayslake Central in the championship game at 10 a.m. Saturday.
"I thought we played well at times tonight," Vernon Hills coach Mike McCaulou said. "We are starting to put some things together and starting to figure out how one another plays. I think if the boys continue to believe in one another and the system, we will be a team to contend with day in and day out."
Round Lake 3, Carmel 1: At Lake Forest, Freddie Ramirez scored a pair of first-half goals and assisted on Alejandro Sotelo's second-half tally.
Sotelo and Christopher Gomez had the assists on Ramirez's goals. Panthers keeper Gerardo Nuñez made 5 saves.
