Investigators combed through a Des Plaines-area townhouse late into the night Thursday looking for clues to what caused a suspected hazardous material situation that left two men dead and a woman in critical condition. Two victims of Ingleside car crash identified

Two Lake County men were positively identified as among the three people who were killed when a car crashed early Wednesday on Rollins Road in Ingleside. The Lake County Coroner's Office identified the driver of the Kia Optima as Jon R. McKinney, 30, of Round Lake Beach; and Michael S. Mortensen, 33, of Ingleside, was identified as the front seat passenger, Covelli said. Full story.

Blackhawks, Elgin Country Club members team up to help former colleague's family

During his career as an NHL enforcer, Daniel Carcillo dropped the gloves many times sticking up for his teammates. Thursday, Carcillo and other Chicago Blackhawks players and alumni put on their golfing gloves to help raise money at a fundraiser at the Elgin Country Club for the family and four children of Clint Reif, the team's assistant equipment manager who killed himself last year. Carpentersville receives federal grant for new ambulance equipment

Two ambulances will be getting new power cots and lift systems, thanks to a $61,819 grant awarded to the Carpentersville Fire Department. The new equipment will make it easier to lift a patient on a stretcher into an ambulance, primarily helping to prevent first responders from injuring their backs, Fire Chief John Skillman said. Rodon keeps rolling in Sox's 4-2 win over Seattle
