Big Ten announces 2015-16 men's basketball conference schedule

The Big Ten announced its 2015-16 men's basketball conference schedule on Thursday.

The conference season begins on Dec. 29, and culminates with the 19th annual Big Ten Tournament at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis from March 9-13.

The Big Ten schedule gets under way with two games on Dec. 29, including defending Big Ten champion Wisconsin hosting Purdue and Michigan State at Iowa.

Northwestern begins conference play at Nebraska on Dec. 30, along with the remaining Big Ten teams. Illinois will Michigan, Penn State will visit Maryland, Minnesota will travel to Ohio State and Rutgers will play host to Indiana. The conference season concludes on March 6.

The Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament will be held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse for the 10th time. All 14 teams will advance to the tournament, with two first-round games slated for March 9.

The No. 12 seed will face the No. 13 seed, while the No. 11 seed will take on the No. 14 seed. The top four teams will receive first and second round byes and advance to the quarterfinals on Friday, March 11.
