Police put on extra patrols start in Arlington Heights

The Arlington Heights Police Department warns drivers to drive sober and keep those seat belts buckled, as it will have extra officers on the street now through Sept. 7 looking for those violations. Police will hold one checkpoint on Friday, Aug. 28 on Arlington Heights Road south of Algonquin Road. A second checkpoint will be held Sept. 4 in Elk Grove Village, in conjunction with the Elk Grove Police Department. The special campaigns are paid for with federal money administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
