The body of a person believed to have been struck along I-290 near Hillside has been identified as a Plainfield man, the Cook County medical examiner's office said. LaShawn Williams, 22, was discovered at about 3 p.m. yesterday on eastbound I-290 near Wolf Road, police said. Full story.

N. Aurora police seek help finding a man who knocked down woman

North Aurora police want the public's help in finding a man who knocked down a woman Sunday near State and Roberts streets on the village's near west side. The victim, 74, was walking about 10 a.m. when a man knocked her to the ground, police said in a news release. Full story.

Daughter sues Kane County, sheriffs over mom's 2013 jail suicide

The daughter of a South Elgin woman who hanged herself two years ago at the Kane County jail has sued, arguing the sheriff, correctional officers and medical personnel routinely disregard the medical and mental health needs of inmates.
