The Bartlett Police Department arrested two Chicago residents Friday who they say were in possession of more than 350 Ecstasy pills.

Tudor Dumbrava, 24, of the 5900 block of North Wintrhop Avenue, and Estrella Villa, 25, of the 2200 block of North Mobile Avenue, were in a 2001 Mercedes E320 vehicle when Bartlett Police stopped the vehicle and conducted an investigation of the car. Bartlett police declined to comment on why the car was being investigated.

Dumbrava, the driver, was in possession of 220 pills of MDMA, or Ecstasy, and a small amount of cocaine, according to police. He was charged with a Super X Felony for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and a Class 4 felony for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Villa was charged with for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony. She was in possession of 134 MDMA pills, according to police.

Bartlett Police Sgt. Geoffrey Pretkelis said a drug bust like this doesn't happen often in Bartlett.

“I've worked here for a long time, and it's a pretty substantial amount that was found,” he said.

Dumbrava and Villa were transported to the DuPage County jail where Dumbrava is being held in jail on bond of $800,000 and Villa on $500,000 bond. They need to post 10 percent to be released.
