College of DuPage Announces Scholars Award Recipients

College of DuPage has announced 87 incoming students as Scholars Award recipients for fall 2015.

The awards fall into two categories: Presidential, a 64-semester hour full tuition scholarship, and Board of Trustees, which is $2,500 per year. Earl Dowling, Vice President of Student Affairs, said this year's scholars are exceptional, with average GPAs of 4.15 on a 4.0 scale and average ACT scores of 30. In addition, this year 41 percent of the scholars are entering the Engineering Pathways program, which guarantees admission to the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

All scholars must pursue a degree or certificate at College of DuPage and enroll in a minimum of 15 hours per semester; maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA; and complete a minimum of 15 Honors credit hours, including an Honors seminar and/or Humanities 2210, Leadership Development. In addition, Presidential Scholars must complete a designated Service Learning course or complete 20 hours of approved volunteer work during their first year at COD.
