Radtke paces Stevenson's season-opening winner
With 6 kills and 4 digs, Jori Radtke led Stevenson's girls volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-10 sweep over Barrington in a girls volleyball season opener Monday.
Morgan Berland and Isabella Milejczyk added 6 and 5 digs respectively for Stevenson and setter Corissa Kurth finished with 11 assists.
Libertyville d. Hersey: Allison Watson rolled up 9 kills as Libertyville swept Hersey in its season opener, 25-19, 25-22. Teammate Erin Dunleavy added 4 kills and 5 digs while setter Anna Lillydahl had 19 assists and libero Morgan O'Brien had 9 digs and 3 aces for Libertyville.
Lakes d. McHenry: Lakes got a nice one-two punch out of Megan Behrendt and McKenna Lahr, who rolled up 11 and 10 kills respectively in a 25-15, 20-25, 25-15 win over McHenry. Lahr also finished with 8 digs, as did Izzy Huntington. Setter Maddie Demo had 35 assists for the Eagles.
Boys soccer
Mundelein 2, Crystal Lake South 2: Mundelein and Crystal Lake South failed to solve much of anything in the season opener for both teams. They are now both 0-0-1. Yann Nsoga scored both goals for Mundelein, one of which came on a penalty kick. Goalie Donnie Kvien had 8 saves for the Mustangs.
Warren 0, Grayslake Central 0: Warren and Grayslake Central battled to a scoreless tie as Warren goalie Blair McCormick had 1 save.
McHenry 4, Grant 0: Grant was down 3-0 by halftime before dropping the nonconference contest.

Vernon Hills d. Grayslake North: Behind a 6-1, 6-1 sweep in the No. 1 singles match by Olivia Jazbutis, Vernon Hills got an 8-0 win over Grayslake North.
Girls golf
Lake County Invite: Carmel took second place at the Lake County Invite with a 333, just behind Barrington, which finished in first place with a 317. Alexa Amato paced Carmel with an 80.
